Methodology

The adapter fetches Wikipedia's "List of most expensive films" page, reads the nominal (non-inflation-adjusted) most-expensive-films table, and keeps the 56 highest-budget productions. Each film enters the leaderboard in its release year and holds its reported budget, so the standing for any year is every listed film released by then ranked by budget. Historical frames are reconstructed from release years in the same table, requiring no additional source.
